Its been nearly a full year since all of you got together, and raised the money to save my place.  It took all this time to finally get Bank of America to approve my mortgage restructure, and now, finally, it has all been done.  You guys did more than to help get a house out of foreclosure.  You gave me the hope i needed to fight through the recession, and to keep my business open, stay on my land, and to make sure that I did not have to uproot Abraham during the last months of his life.  Now, Abraham is buried by the creek, and I know i can always go back to visit his grave.

I have decided to use live journal as the blog for my business, which is now doing much better than it was a year ago.  As my business grows and becomes more successful, you can be assured that I will pay forward the generosity that all of you showed me.

The Last Saturday Parties have returned as of three months ago.  While the August and September party started out small, the October Halloween party was over the top, thanks to the contributions of many.  Our semi professional electronic DJs did a fantastic job, and the lazer show was incredible.  In addition Matt and his fire spinning troup added another fantastic element to the night that no LSP has had in the past.  Its gonna be hard to top this one, but we will figure out a way!  The parties are done for this season, but we are aiming for a full 8 party season next year, starting the Last Saturday of March.  I hope that those of you that helped make it possible for these parties to continue will make a point to come out to one next year.

Again, THANK YOU.  You have made a huge difference in my life, that will allow me to continue to make a positive difference in other peoples lives, hopefully for a long time.

[housekeeping] item problems? [announcement] con_or_bust

Will whoever emailed me a few weeks ago about having lost contact with the person who was supposed to supply them with an item please contact me again? I have looked for the notification and cannot find it, but will look again tomorrow after sleep. I do apologize for the delay, I have been having my personal life all over the place. I am sure I didn't delete it, and again, I am sorry.

In addition, if anyone else needs to bring to my attention an Auction Problem, now is a good time to do so as the first full week in March is my spring break, in which I have time to Get Things Done.

Housekeeping aside, I wanted to let you fabulous folks know about another project I'm involved in for the second year in a row, the con_or_bust auction, which this year is being overseen by the awesome Carl Brandon Society, which exists to "increase racial and ethnic diversity in the production of and audience for speculative fiction." Among other worthy efforts, they administer the Octavia E. Butler Memorial Scholarship to the prestigious Clarion writer's workshop, and I am tickled to death that they've partnered with what was, last year, just a community-driven whim and prayer. (Sound like anything we did recently? :p)

Con Or Bust started last year in order to provide an assistance fund for fans of color wishing to attend wiscon , the long-standing feminist science fiction convention held each Memorial Day weekend in Madison, WI. Wiscon is one of the highlights of my year, and many, many Wiscon folks helped make save_dave a smashing success.

You can read more about the project here. Lots of very, very nice things are available for auction over there, including an autographed 1st edition of Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys, my very own personal customizable fudge, more gorgeous jewelry from save_dave heroines myrrhmade and arianhwyvar , and much, much more.

It would be a goodness if any of you choose to support Con or Bust this year; I helped get it off the ground on a shoestring and some cussin' last year, and now it's grown to be this awesome thing. New auctions, bidding and signal boosts are ultimately welcome. While I have no intention of coming to y'all every five minutes with this sort of thing, COB is a project close to my heart, and I hope you'll check it out, and promote and support it as you can if you so choose.

Auctions are ongoing now through March 13. It's not too late to submit items or bid, and signal boosts are appreciated. Thank you so much for all that you do.

You did it, folks.

The day before Thanksgiving, Sabrina had the total at $7300 and change, received.

All of you are so wonderful. Thank you. Times a billion.

I'll keep updating you on Dave's story, and when hnmic can make it out there to show him how to work Livejournal, he may just come thank you himself.

There are other needs out in the world.

Our own rowangolightly is putting together a moving fund following some personal troubles of her own, through auctions of her own items & donated by friends, at rescue_rowan (run by fellow Friend of Save Dave apocalypticbob.) Lots of tasty treats and tasty books available, many available in time for $WINTERHOLIDAY gift giving.

britgeekgrrl, who is not known to me, but is known to fellow FOSD addiejd, has just (as in, today), lost her partner after a long illness, sooner than projected. Her friends are trying to raise money for his burial expenses. (I was going to go out to dinner tonight as a treat before exams tomorrow. I decided that was better spent elsewhere.) (Edited to add: the Internet has come through, yet again: see comments.)

All of us keep passing it on, around and around and around and around again.

A couple of days late, y'all - know I give thanks for all of you.

Confidential to ladyallyn: got your message; need to find earlier email I sent you in own inbox; exams tomorrow, expect email tomorrow PM and sorry for delay.

I have so much to tell y'all and no time.

Last time I checked with Sabrina over $4000 was already in, in donations and auction bids. I'm sure it's more by now, if not All the Money. (If you haven't gotten your donation in for your high bid, please do.)

The bank is going to take the money. We are working with the lawyers to use this in order to get the bank to agree to a more favorable interest rate on the mortgage, going forward, to make even more sure that this never happens again.

We had a great party last weekend and I have many tales for you, but I also have exams and nothing new to report. Go check out the Youtube comments; some friends of Dave's have stopped by now that the video has gone out on the party list.

But? Things are all good, and more later. LOVE. YOU. ALL.

Dave has been saved....BUT.....

Let's give him a bit of a cush for things that might go wrong.

I have donated a custom made bead knitted purse but the highest bid is only $35? If it goes to $50, I will make another one. My auction is set to go off on November 15th at 11:59pm. I am LJ illiterate on linking but look on the 22 of October in the Archive.
